Early on in my career I was perceived as a nice person because I was that “ yes” person. As time went on and I started saying “no” I became the “her position has gone to her head” kind of coworker(I went from NA to RN). I finally retired (prematurely) in January 2018 at the age of 57 (would have turned 58 in April) because I was continually seen as a “ not patient first “ kind of employee from any and all leadership despite the fact that I was doing the very best I could. Left a very bitter individual/employee and just now able to speak of it without crying.

So yes as you are pointing out, “yes” is the expected response. “ Make it happen”.
